INTRODUCING

SUSTAINABLE FASHION STREETS

Our collaborators & mentors

We envision thriving sustainable fashion ventures on every UK high street. To realize this, starting and sustaining these businesses must become more accessible, and this is where our collaborators step in. Through mentoring and sharing their resources, they can support you to succeed with your sustainable fashion, clothing, or textile venture. How do we know? A UPS study revealed that 70 percent of small business owners who receive mentoring survive for five years or more, which is double the rate of those who do not receive mentoring.

About us

Sustainable Fashion Streets is a shared mission. It is a partnership of collaborators - a group of community businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations - who want to contribute to building a more sustainable clothing & fashion industry that benefits local economies, people and planet.

We learn together and we help others start similar initiatives in other towns or cities, so we can mature the business models that will be the building blocks for Sustainable Fashion Streets by 2030. Sustainable Fashion Street is facilitated by HIVE Community Business School and Sustainable Fashion Week. Meet our collaborators who are are providing mentoring & support so that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, and can succeed in developing your own sustainable fashion venture.

Why

In today's interconnected world, fashion transcends borders – from production in Bangladesh to global sales and disposal in Ghana. But it's not just a global concern; local communities can play a vital role in fostering more sustainable fashion.

A recent Bloomberg Intelligence report, 'Global Apparel: Rise of Rental, Resale, and Repair,' predicts that the circular clothing economy could reach 23% of the global fashion market by 2030, driven by growing consumer sustainability awareness and economic factors. This presents a unique opportunity for local businesses to leverage their strengths and provide affordable, sustainable clothing that resonates with their communities.
